Eddy King
Le jeune Eddy King arrive au Québec à l'àge de 13 ans, directement de la banlieue parisienne où il a grandi avec sa mère congolaise. Des son jeune àge, il est attiré vers les arts de la scène et remporte des concours de rap, mais c'est finalement le stand-up qui l'attire. Il travaille fort pour se tailler une place à ses débuts et il est sacré « coup de coeur » du concours de la relève du festival Juste pour rire en 2007. Il roule sa bosse et son célèbre numéro sur Tintin au Congo e avant de lancer son premier one-man-show en 2010 intitulé Eddy King !
Depuis, on a pu voir Eddy dans nos écrans à L'heure est grave, à la radio à Gravel le matin ainsi que sur scène lors de plusieurs galas Juste pour rire ou de ses passages réguliers au Bordel Comédie Club. Avec toute sa prestance et son charisme Eddy fait rire, mais il fait aussi réfléchir en parlant de sa vie de famille, de ses expériences et de ses convictions. Plus récemment, il étend son royaume jusqu'au cinéma, avec son rôle dans le dernier film de Denys Arcand La chute de l'empire américain.
Prochainement, Eddy King lancera son deuxième one-man-show Mokonzi un titre digne d'un roi!
Young Eddy King arrived in Quebec at 13 years old, directly from the Parisian suburbs where he grew up with his Congolese mother.
From a young age, he was interested in the performing arts and despite winning several rap contests, in the end, his true calling was stand-up. He worked hard on his craft and in 2007, was crowned Coup de Coeur in the up-and-coming category of Le Festival Juste Pour Rire (Just for Laughs). He went on to perform his now famous bit about the comic book Tintin in the Congo, before launching his first one-man-show in 2010, appropriately named Eddy King.
Since then, we've seen Eddy on the small screen on Quebec shows like L'Heure est grave, and also in english for Laugh Out Loud with Kevin Hart. He's been on the air with Gravel le matin, as well as the big screen in Denys Arcand last movie La chute de l'empire américain. On the stage, he has toured Canada, from sea to sea, in both French and English. He's been in many galas at Just For Laughs in both languages and has gone as far as Johannesburg to spread his royal kind of comedy, both funny and intelligent, about his family life, his experiences and his beliefs.
His next endeavour, his second one-man show entitled, Mokonzi, a title fit for a king!
