Frequently Asked Questions

Ticketing

What is 3Common?
3Common is a Winnipeg-based ticketing service that we use for all shows not held at Ticketmaster-contracted venues. By using 3Common, we support local while keeping online ticket fees lower for you. Win-win!

Why does WCF use Ticketmaster?
Some venues have exclusive contracts with Ticketmaster, meaning we must use their system when we rent those spaces. Our Mega Shows require a large venue for cameras, cast, crew, and production equipment, and Burton Cummings Theatre is one of the only venues that fits those needs. Plus, it’s a beautiful piece of Winnipeg history!

My discount code isn’t working—why not?
Make sure you click “unlock” on the right-hand side of the purchase page before entering your code. That usually fixes the issue! If you still have trouble, contact us at (204) 284-9477 or tickets@winnipegcomedyfestival.com.

Programming

Which shows are child-friendly?
Many of our shows are great for kids, but we encourage parents to use their discretion. Some performances are recorded for CBC (which means a PG rating), but in between takes, the language may get a little spicy! Want to check out past episodes? Watch us on CBC Gem!

For 2025, we recommend:

  • PatterDad – A hilarious one-person show about fatherhood. Ages 12+ welcome!
  • The Debaters – Recorded for CBC Radio, usually suitable for ages 12+ (listen to past episodes to decide for yourself!).
  • Mega Shows – Filmed for CBC Television & CBC Gem with a PG rating.
  • Best of the Fest – A clean, all-ages comedy show—perfect for a first live comedy experience! It’s also pay-what-you-can!

What is a Mega Show?
Mega Shows are exactly that—MEGA. Each one features a celebrity Canadian host and six hilarious comics—that’s seven top-tier performances for just $40! Mega Shows are filmed for CBC Television and CBC Gem, so when you attend, you’re part of a live TV audience! Expect high-energy performances, big laughs, and maybe even a glimpse of your own face on TV!
