Doug Mutai

By way of Calgary, Lethbridge and Kenya, Doug Mutai brings an utterly unique voice to the Canadian comedy scene. Illustrating the similarities between seemingly disparate cultures, Mutai has caught the eyes of various festivals and bookers across Canada since his debut at the Winnipeg Comedy Festival in 2012.

A former college athlete and business school graduate, Doug Mutai has come a long way since he graduated and decided to build on his ages long passion of performing live. The style of comedy he employs playfully blends his personal eccentricities with his Kenyan heritage and Canadian experience making him a crowd favorite across various stages. His observations have been described as both charming and challenging.

He has also been featured as a cast member of Telus TVs sketch comedy show Cowtown, performed at the premiere of Kenya's Thursday comedy show Churchill Raw and has been featured on CBC Calgary and Edmonton's documentary series Culture Secrets (2013) amongst others. Whenever he is not doing comedy, Doug Mutai can be found painting, farming and writing away in secluded places.
