Dewey Parker
Dewey Parker may be the smoothest comedian you'll see in your lifetime. He is the current titleholder of "Winnipeg's Funniest Person with a Day Job," but Dewey began performing standup and improv comedy in Shanghai, China.
Over his 5-year stint there, he became a local fan favourite for his likable nature, original humour, and energetic, memorable performances. He headlined sold-out standup shows around China, hosted a weekly open mic and weekend showcase, and performed improv comedy with two teams: Empire Improv, and the People's Republic of Comedy.
Now, Dewey has returned to his home in Winnipeg to continue his silliness. Thank goodness all his jokes are in English! He's a regular host at Yuk Yuk's and appears constantly around town. He also performs as a founding member of Tectonic Improv, who will make their first Fringe Festival appearance this year.
