Tyra Boinks
Tyra has been delighting fans for over 10 years, with her unique style, crowd pleasing humour, and overall glam. This “Hostess with the Mostess” began her illustrious career at Club Happenings, bringing LIFE and LOVE as the resident host. It wasn’t long before Tyra was called to host fundraisers for the Gas Station Theatre, Dance Manitoba, Mr. Gay Winnipeg, and the Rainbow Resource Centre, just to name a few. She has also traveled extensively throughout Canada, and has hosted countless drag events and pageants in other cities. She has brought down the house on the Pride Mainstage, as well as the Pride Cabaret (an event serving as an alternative to the dance party, way back in the day…, like WAY GAY back….) as well at delighted audiences at both of Winnipeg’s Universities. Not one to pigeon hole herself, she has also stole the show, appearing in some local theatre productions, including the Fringe Festival hit "It's a Gay Gay Gay Gay World," and Sondheimfest's "A Funny Thing Happened On the Way to the Forum." Most recently, she thrilled audiences in her sold out 2014 one-woman Fringe Festival show "Big Fat Drag Queen.
