Ali Saeed
Ali Saeed was a political prisoner in Ethiopia before he came to Canada, but it didn't cost him his sense of humour. A proud and popular self-employed Winnipegger for almost 30 years, Ali is a human rights activist, convenience store owner, baker, poet and joker. His life story was told in the movie Memories of a Generation: The Story of Ali Saeed by local filmmaker Aaron Floresco. Ali is a frequent contributor to CBC Radio's DNTO and is making his first Comedy Festival appearance along with his daughter Orit, a Grade 12 student at Maples Collegiate.
