For immediate Release
April 7, 2008

It’s that time of year again – the snow is melting, Winnipeggers are shedding their winter coats, and in what is becoming an annual Winnipeg Spring tradition, many of North America’s funniest people are flocking to the city. Why? It’s Comedy Festival week!

Announcing a new show:
The Three Amigos, Thursday, April 10th, 10:30pm at the Gas Station Theatre:
Featuring three of Winnipeg’s finest comics in a rare triple threat performance! Record-breaking Marathon Man of Mirth, Big Daddy Tazz, Winnipeg’s favourite comedic songwriter and writer for This Hour has 22 Minutes Dean Jenkinson, and the man who has worked his magic and created seven amazing CBC Winnipeg Comedy Festivals in a row - Al Rae!

It’s a very rare opportunity to see these three performing together on one stage. Tickets only $19.95, available at Ticketmaster. This show is replacing the A. Whitney Brown Show, who unfortunately had to cancel his appearance at the 2008 festival for personal reasons. Ticket holders for the A. Whitney Brown show can contact Ticketmaster for exchange and refund options.
And don’t miss our great free community shows:

Monday April 7, 7:30pm at McNally Robinson on Grant Avenue: Winnipeg’s greatest comedy duo Dean Jenkinson (writer for This Hour Has 22 Minutes) and Al Rae (writer for Little Mosque on the Prairie) perform a half-hour set of songs, laughs and all around tom-foolery.

Tuesday April 8, 12pm at Portage Place: Marathon Man of Mirth Big Daddy Tazz, who recently performed 8.5 hours of continuous original stand-up, will appear with Al Rae to give a very short taste of some of that marathon humour.

Wednesday April 9, 12pm at the Millennium Library, Reader Services Area: Big Daddy Tazz will have them rolling in the stacks with a short stand-up set, and possibly even read a children’s story for his younger fans!

Thursday April 10, 12pm at the  Millennium Library, Reader Services Area: Roman Danylo (star of CTV’s Comedy Inc.) performs improv games with Steve McIntyre and any willing audience members! A great chance to interact with one of Canada’s biggest improv stars!

Friday April 11, 12pm at the Millennium Library, Reader Services Area: Manoj Sood (star, Little Mosque on the Prairie) and Al Rae gab about their exciting jobs on the set of Little Mosque on the Prairie! See an episode and then ask anything you’ve ever wanted to know about working on a hit TV show!

The CBC Winnipeg Comedy Festival runs April 9th – 13th  at venues throughout the city.
